Location. The Inn of the Governors is located in Santa Fe, N.M., within one quarter mile of Santa Fe Plaza, Loreto Chapel and West de Vargas Park. The hotel is less than one half mile from Bridge of the Hidalgos Historic Site, New Mexico Capitol Building and Institute of American Indian Arts Museum. Museum of New Mexico History Library and Sweeney Convention Center are just over one half mile from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Inn of the Governors opens to a lobby with deep burnt orange tiled floors, exposed brickwork, wooden wall paneling, wooden ceiling beams, a globe, and sofas and chairs. The hotel offers complimentary daily buffet style breakfasts and afternoon sherry and tea receptions. Del Charro Saloon, with saloon doors, wooden paneling, and a kiva fireplace, serves American and New Mexican cuisine including burgers, wraps, quesadillas and salads. The hotel offers complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby. The hotel features a year round outdoor pool.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms feature Santa Fe style d?cor including carved wooden desks and Southwestern artwork. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses, feather pillows and American Indian quilts. Cable television and dial up Internet access are available. Rooms include coffeemakers and minibars. Bathrooms feature Southwestern tiled showers, bathrobes and Emlin toiletries.
Expert Tip. Constructed in Pueblo Revival Style, the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum's building was transferred to the museum by the federal government. The museum, located one half mile from the hotel, houses over 7,000 works of American Indian art and hosts workshops and gallery discussions by the artists.
