Location. Since opening its doors in 1913, the historic Best Western Hotel California has gracefully evolved into one of San Francisco's favorite theater row properties. Frequented by vacationing Europeans, theater season ticket holders and corporate travelers, this landmark boutique is in high demand. The completely smoke free Best Western Hotel California was meticulously renovated in 2004 but retains turn of the century charm as evidenced by the original black and white checkerboard marble floors in the lobby. Health conscious diners can enjoy the Millennium, the hotel's gourmet vegetarian restaurant that serves savory vegetarian dishes such as parsnip flan and plantain torte. The restaurant d�cor is fashioned from primarily recycled materials and features an all organic wine list. The hotel offers complimentary wine and cheese receptions each evening.
