Location. The Maya Tankah by Freedom Paradise All Inclusive resort is located near the Mayan ruins of Tul�m in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Hotel Features. Five restaurants and bars include Cielito Lindo where Mexican specialties tempt palates. The Lobby Bar features occasional marimba musical entertainment. A shop located in the lobby provides a rentable computer with high speed Internet access. This hotel stands along sacred ground that was once a Mayan ceremonial center and holy tankah, or "place of free souls." Yoga classes, tai chi, meditation and Mayan oracles of offered. Recreational amenities include four outdoor pools, two of which are activity pools, and one that includes a swim up bar. The hotel hosts a tennis court, snorkeling and beach volleyball along the protected coral reef.
Guestrooms. The hotel offers 112 guestrooms that are assigned according to availability at check in. All rooms feature balconies or patios furnished with tables, chairs and hammocks. Room d�cor is Mexican Caribbean with tile wall decorations, ceramic tile flooring and vibrantly hued furniture accents. Air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite television, telephones, and en suite bathrooms are standard room features.
Expert Tip. The hotel's ecological and cultural department introduces guests to local natural phenomena with activities that include feeding the shore birds, tours of "cenotes," natural freshwater pools with underwater caves and caverns, and tours of "water eyes," which are saltless water flows within the ocean. The hotel walkways feature signs with depictions and explanations of indigenous birds, iguanas, fish, and other Cancun dwelling creatures.
