Location.The villa style Hotel Continental, with its white marble interiors, is located in the centre of historical Sirmione on the shores of picturesque Lake Garda. It is 25 kilometres from Verona and eight kilometres from Salo. Verona Valerio Catullo Airport is 25 kilometres away, a 30 minute drive.
Hotel Features. The waterfront terrace, with uninterrupted views across Lake Garda, is liberally dotted with chairs and loungers, and boasts a hot tub. Hotel Continental also features a private jetty from which one can hire motorboats, and the heated swimming pool is set in peaceful, picturesque gardens. Practical amenities include free parking, a 24 hour front desk, air conditioned public areas, concierge services, and childcare.
Hotel Continental Restaurant offers a light, modern dining room with large picture windows running the length of one wall and affording panoramic views of the lake. The focus is on regional Italian food and wines. The terrace overlooks the clear blue waters of Lake Garda.
Guestrooms.The 57 guestrooms, over four floors, have modern decor and furnishings with tiled floors. All include air conditioning, cable television, desks, direct dial phones, dial up Internet connections, minibars and safes. The half board room rate incorporates buffet breakfast and dinner each day.
Expert Tip.A range of water sports are available on the lake, including some fine fishing. There's also said to be a cache of buried treasure deposited by Mussolini, beneath the lake. So bring your snorkel.

Getting there.A taxi direct to the Continental from the airport will cost around 70 EUR. Sirmione is easily explored on foot, although a hire car is recommended for trips further afield.
Driving directions.From the airport take the highway (autostrada) A4 for Milano and exit at Sirmione. Follow signs to Sirmione Centro Storico (historical centre). At a medieval castle at the entrance of the village access is restricted for motorists, so have your hotel reservation details handy. Cross the castle bridge and follow the one way system. After a set of traffic lights and two small tunnels, the one way system bears right. At the end of this road the hotel is signposted. Turn left and then right, and the hotel is 100 metres on the left.
